On May 24th, 2000, I was born into the most loving family in the world. Growing up, my favourite activity was dancing. At the current age of 19, I have danced a whole 16 years- 14 of them being highly competitive, and one year, (which was my last year) of being the head coach/trainer for my hometowns dance company. The very company I started my career with when I was just 3 years old. In my years of dancing I have studied tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, pointe, and musical theatre. As well as taking all of my tap exam classes, and ballet exam classes up to advanced 2. Dancing has taught me dedication, perseverance, and discipline as well as many other things in life and i am forever grateful for.
Throughout my dancing career i also picked up in modelling off and on throughout elementary and high school. Something about the environment of modelling and dancing caught my eye, and i truly loved it and did not want to do anything else. That being said, I was also always drawn to pageants ever since I was little. The continuous Tuesday evening, “Toddlers and Tiaras” was my life. I grabbed my 7 year-old self a bowl of popcorn and some other snacks and sat on the couch for hours on end!
Some things that I am really excited for coming up in my future is obviously the Miss World Pageant, but also my first year of college in the fall! I have been accepted into Medicine Hat College for Criminal Justice and forensic investigations. I have always had a very big interest in policing as my dad was a cop, my uncle currently still is a cop, and my grandpa is a retired RCMP veteran. Also, helping people and trying to better a community should be something everyone should be able to do. In my case, I want to take it to a whole other level, keeping the bad people off of the street so the good people can have a eased mind and feel safe where they have chose to make a home. My long term goal is to ultimately branch out into the K9 department with a city police unit. I have always had a strong love and connection to animals and that has helped me decide that the K9 unit would be the perfect match for myself.
I had always dreamed about being in a pageant, but with dance 5 days a week- I never really had time for anything else. When I came across the Miss World Canada’s ad about applying for Miss World 2019, I couldn’t not. Through lots of waiting and hard work, I am PROUD to be able to introduce myself as “Miss Saskatchewan World 2019!” Thank you everyone for your support so far! I cannot wait to see where this journey will take me!
